The Art of Carnival Exhibits promotes and expands cultural and historical awareness of the West Indian American Carnivals. The goal of the exhibit is to expand the cultural experience of the carnival to new audiences as the exhibit tours the country and eventually Trinidad. The gallery experience includes a lecture on the history of the West Indian American Carnival. The educational portion of the exhibit explains how and why the carnival started, an explanation of the historical characters, and their significant. Viewers will gain a new perspective on how to view the West Indian American Carnival.
